Christmas Day
For our feast this Christmas we had only the usual Christmas feast any family would have. The traditional ham, chicken, potato salad, and crab salad. Just those and then, cake and ice cream for desert. It was really simple but I heaps of fun. After we had fully filled ourselves up with all the scrumptious food we decided to open our presents. First person to get a present had to be James, my little brother. He was lucky cause he got a Psp, and two games for it. Then it was my turn to open my presents. I first had to open an envelope which only contained 50 dollars in it, then they gave me a shoe box. It obviously had shoes in it. I was wishing for it to have been some new vans. But nope I got Converse All Star flats. They look really cool though. And I got some new swag pants, and am hoping to buy more summer dresses with the money. And then the gift give away carried on. My sister Nive got cheetah looking chuck taylor's, and 50 dollars also. And she got a really pretty sun hat for summer. My eldest sister, got a box of Ferrero Rocher. So did my mum. And then my grandma got 3 boxes of Ferrero Rocher. Then the whole present thing was over and we were just going to stay in for the rest of the day and watch new movies. Since the whether was quite bad itself. We watched Snow White and The Huntsman, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, and Wreck It Ralph. After all these movies, we looked at the time and it was going onto 10pm. So we decided to hit the showers then hit the hay. Over all the day was really fun. Got some new cool looking things, and had an awesome Lunch. I cant wait for next years Christmas!

Brooklyn's Slumber Party (Dancing Diva's)
It's been the first couple of days for the holidays, and I've already been invited to go to a sleep over. And it was Brooklyn's. The note said to come at 11am, and bring whatever. Like it literally said whatever. It was 11am, and I was so not ready yet. So I ended up leaving home round about half past 11. When I got to Brooklyn's, Huelo-Ata, and herself were just up the drive way, going to Shoals Nana's house. My mum then dropped me off, and we said our goodbyes. It was a sleepover after all we couldn't see each other till tomorrow. Since Shoal had to help with her little cousins birthday party we decided to help her as well.
After we did so, we went back to Brooklyn's and we played a little bit of Wii. Then planned out where we were sleeping, and also planned out the rest of the evening. Ashleigh was arriving much later so we waited for her. When she arrived all the girls decided to go to the movies. Since Ariana, Brooklyn's little sister had a slumber party going on as well, they had to go with her mum, and us older girls went to Sylvia Park by ourselves. We got ready and were off. When we got there it was around quarter to 5. And the movie started at 6:30pm. So we walked down to Noel Leeming and played there for a bit, on this dancing game that was on display in the front. We actually kind of attracted a crowd. The time went by so fast the movie had already started when we finally turned to look at the time. We then left the game and scurried off to our movie.
When we got there we were able to catch the movie in a nick-o-time. We were going to watch Wreck It Ralph. The movie ended, and it appealingly made it into my top 5 favoured movies. Number 1 to be exact. All us girlie's, Brooklyn, Shoal, Ashleigh, Huelo-Ata and I ran down the escalator to Dick Smith, and played on the i-pads in there, while waiting for Brooklyn's mum to come and pick us up. When she picked us up, we were starving, so we got home and decided to help Jacintha, Brooke's mum with the cooking, we were going to have Nacho's for dinner. After everyone ate, we took our showers, and headed to bed. Since the little girls took up the whole living room, the older girls had to sleep in a tent outside. It sounds uncomfortable but really it was nice and cosy. It was awesome, first we played blinds man buff, then we tried prank calling people, which failed. Then we just decided to lay anywhere in the tent, and talk.
Most of us just drifted away to sleep like me. So after I went to sleep I didn't know what happened after that. When I woke up, I saw Brooklyn walking around video recording everyone. It was really funny, but they eventually woke up and realised she took photo's of them sleeping. So she got forced to delete them. We all got up cleaned our things, and got ready for breakfast. But first thing was first, we had to ruin the little girls sleep over. It was funny, cause we tried barging in through the door and jumping on them without making a noise, well that was the plan, but the door was wide open, and they saw us trying to sneak in. So we just gave up and help make breakfast.
For breakfast we were going to have Pancakes, with maple syrup, bacon, cocoa puffs, and some other scrumptious looking things. After we ate we all decided to walk down to the local reserve and go for a morning swim, so we got ready, all keen to swim, when suddenly Jacintha got a text from my mum, saying I could get dropped off home right then. So dream kill, I had to get my things packed and get dropped off home. All the girls dropped me off, and I thanked Jacintha for everything. Even though my sleep over got cut off so early over all I had an awesome time. Me and the girls had heaps and heaps of fun together at least. And we made memories at Sylvia Park, being the dance diva's of Noel Leeming. But overall, I had an awesome as time.

Prize giving of 2012
Thursday evening was the most splendid night of my life. During the day I had received a letter to say that I was getting a prize for prizegiving, so when it came to the evening I was much more than eager to find out what I was going to get. Mrs Langitupu led us into the hall, and the heat straight away hit me like a ray of sun beating on me viciously. We sat down and I was real nervous.
Grade by grade went past. Their items were awesome, and the awards I would say were definitely given to each of the right and well deserved child. Then it went onto the yr 7 grade. I’m pretty sure everyone, like seriously everyone of our grades students hearts were pumping.
The first part of the yr 7 awards were getting called. For instance the Citizenship award, as well as 100% attendance, Best effort, and much much more. Then after that came the top of year 7 grade awards. By then my name still hadn’t been called out. “Drum roll please. Stop. 3rd academic award goes to, Miss Vivienne Alofi” said Mr Burt. He paused while she walked up on the stage, and then carried on. “Drum roll please, Stop. 2nd academic goes to, Miss Makerita Isaako” he said. I paused for a moment and thought for a split second was that my name. Then without even thinking about what I was supposed to do next, I stood up loud and proud, with dignity and walked right onto the stage. I just couldn’t believe anything at the time. I was extremely proud of myself.
I was so overwhelmed I just started to cry, with blurry eyes, I looked out to the crowd and smiled so hard my cheeks started to hurt. I lowered my eyes to the floor to see who was approaching the stage, and apparently it was my sister Nive walking towards me, with a packet of mini picnik chocolate bars, and a Black Forest block of chocolate. She reached the stage and just handed it directly to me. It was pretty funny. “And 1st academic awards goes to, Miss Chante Fillipo” Mr Burt said into the mike. I was really happy for all of us, like VERY happy for all of us.
After photos were taken, we walked down to the ground and I sat down straight away. I looked up and everyone was walking past me, because I didn’t know that we were supposed to perform our item right after that category was all called out. So I dropped everything, and walked up with tears rolling down my red cheeks. We performed exceptionally well I would say. We aced it.
The evening went on, and it came right up to the part where the new prefects were to be called out. Everyone was eager to find out who the new prefects for next year was going to be. The boys were called out first, which went in order like this Gabriel Inia, Darius Lavakula, Raenan Garcia, and Crusdaer Faletangoai. Then the girls Vivienne Alofi, Brooklyn Alves-Culley, Shoal Makata, and last but not least Makerita Isaako. Once again I was still really shocked!! I love the new badges, it looks awesome. Over all the night was all like a dream. And I couldn’t be more happier then to have been there that very evening.

My Future Career
My future career. Hmmmmm, I could be a superhero. Na to unrealistic. How about a plumber! Na to boyish. I know the perfect thing I should be when I grow up, how about to become a lawyer. That’s what I’ve always admired to be ever since I was quite little.
Being a lawyer, I was told took a lot of hard work. Things wouldn’t always go the way it was planned. You would win, and loose some of your cases, but the person who I look up to is my auntie Vavae who is a lawyer herself. She's an awesome aunty, and I heard that she gets paid up to $2000 every fort night.
I think that is one of the reasons why I would like to become a lawyer, cause of the pay, and at the same time, because it is what I have wanted to be since I was little. But to be able to become one, I will have to study hard, focus on school, and mostly listen to any good advice I get.

12.12.12 The Day of Superstitiousness
12.12.12 that's the date today. It's a day when people start saying very superstitious things about the date. For instance I hear people whaling "OH NO THE WORLDS GOING TO END!" Pretty pathetic don't you think? Anyway, the date means nothing, it all depends on the Lord, and when he wants the world to end. But by the teachings I have learnt, we're actually going to have a very long period of time on this earth. So yeah, according to things we're fine just the way we are.

Best Of Friends
The photo up top, are of all the people in our little cluster of friends. Each of them have their very own way of being unique to me. Vivienne, she's a very talented friend of mine. Mary L, well she's a really good singer. Shoal, she's my very close teddy bear. Huelo Ata, she's the fit one of the group and she is also one of my close friends. Brooklyn she's the weird and unique one of the clan. Ashleigh, haha, she has a lot of things in common with me. Crusader, he's like an older brother. Darius, he's like my twin brother. Each of them are very special and dear to me. I can't wait for next year trying to spend the most time with each of them as possible.

Outlook for Someday Evening Awards
The evening was young and Mrs Langitupu, Miss Muliaumaseali'i, Kingston, Shoal, and I were on our way to one of the venues in the Aotea Centre. It was a very special evening for us all, we were going to be receiving the award for a category we had won from the Outlook for Someday event.
When we had arrived we were directed right into the medium sized auditorium and sat down near the back. Then we were all directed to another set of seats that we would sit on for the rest of the evening. We were at the very front, right next to the red carpet.
The evening award started, and the first category called out was the Body Shop. Then category by category went past, and precisely on the 16th one, which was the Tagata Pasifika award "Lost Paradise" was called out as the winner. And guess what, that was US! It was called out by the one and only John Pulu, one of the shows very well known presenters. We thanked him, and delivered our speech, then sat right back in our seat, with that buzz of amazement still running through our veins.
Later on after the ceremony had finished, there were light refreshments going on in the foyer of the venue. They served sausage rolls, and quiche which filled me up just fine. The evening over all was spectacular. It was my first time, but definitely shouldn't be my last.

Year 8's
I can't believe that I'm saying this, but I actually miss those loud and very noisy year 8's. Ever since they've gone the whole school has pretty much been quiet. But at the same time, I'm very jealous because Selena had been telling us all about the place they'd be staying at, the day before they left us. She said that there were going to be heated pools, nice clean cabins, and much more things. And the place was up North as well, which would probably take a good hour till they would reach the destination.
I actually miss them, and their loud and noisy ways. But other then that, I can't wait till we get to go next year. Can't WAIT for next YEAR !!

The Manaiakalani evening Session
The evening session started off with all the very fun and ecstatic films. And ended with the emotional ones. The same feeling I had rushed through my adrenaline as the day time session.
Me and Toreka were set to the second to last partners to present. The person that opened the whole event for the evening, was very funny. He used to be a presenter on the famous kids show What Now. One of the things he did that made me awe, was he stuck a sharp stick right through a balloon with out popping it. It was amazing.
But then the lights dimmed down, and the whole festival started.
Movie after movie, things were going very fast. My favourite movie for the whole evening was 'The Test'. It was hilarious. The actors were really good. But at the same time as I was enjoying myself it came closer to being our turns. We then saw the students sitting before us in the line walk up. The we suddenly faced each other mouthed the words.
Their movie then played, and I then thought to myself, what's the hassle it'll be like the day time session. So I relaxed and got ready to walk on stage. Mrs Burt handed us the mike and it went silent. "Which will you take" then came out of both our mouths and we realised we were finished.
We scurried quickly back to our seats and relaxed for the very last movie being presented by Irasa and Tatianna from Tamaki Intermediate. Their movie was thanking their Principal Mr Horan for all of his hard work he has contributed to the school for the past many many years.
But soon after the movie had finished we all gave a huge applaud to the people who had made the whole thing possible. So from me to those people, Thank You so much!! It was an awesome evening!!

Part 1 of my Telecom Tree Lighting Trip
On the bus going towards the city, the boys were cracking funny jokes, making the whole crowd sitting near the back of the bus burst into laughter, half of the time. Where were we going? Why are we sitting on a bus you may be asking? Well some students got the huge privilege and opportunity to go to the big Telecom Tree Lighting Ceremony in the city. The very kind and thoughtful people who worked for Telecom provided buses that would take us there, food that would fill us, and heaps of fun we were to have.
“Okay guy’s we’re off here” Mr Burt called from the front door of the bus. Vivienne, Ashleigh, Litia, Samson, Darius, Kingston, Tui, Miracle and I all stood up and slowly walked off of the bus, looking lifeless. But as soon as we received our little packages filled with our evening meals we automatically looked like we had some actual life in us.
One of the Telecom people that directed us as to where we had to go, walked us right down to where the main event was happening. When we got there, we put down our bags, and ran over to this little phone box we had to go in and ring Santa, and ask politely what we wanted for Christmas. Vivienne, Tyrece and I jumped in all at once. Tyrece was much to shy, so Vivienne asked Santa for Tyrece, then I asked Santa what I wanted, then Vivienne. We all exited the little phone box giggling, and actually thinking we would get what we asked for. Well my hopes are up.
Then we scurried off to our bags craving for our food. I had beef and Litia had Vegetarian which is not what she wanted. After Vivienne and I ate we went to a little tent, that was pretty crowded but could just about fit a few more people. There was a circular table in the centre of the tent, and a line going towards a popcorn stand, and a massive drawing that anyone could colour in if they wanted to do so.
We stood in the line of the popcorn stand, and it took quite a while, but Darius, Kingston, Samson, Tui and Miracle were at the front of the line and they were mocking us when they walked past us. We finally reached the front of the line, and the machine broke. So we waited an extra 5 minutes. When we got our popcorn, we headed right to the massive drawing that anyone could colour in. Vivienne and I were colouring in, and all of a sudden, Ashleigh and the boys joined us.
After we drew our names on the massive picture, we then went to the line that were giving out balloons. Denny, one of the telecom helpers came and asked us if we wanted to join him, with his little Gangnam Style flash mob that was going to happen in the centre of the stage. "YEAH SURE" we all replied. And once a pumping song came on, we ditched the line, and ran to the stage. "We got this guys" Samson was saying to all of us, in a nervous toned voice. We each ran on the stage pumped and ready, then the beat came on, and we were all jumping around like maniacs. "Hahahahaha, this is crack up" Sean said from the back with a huge smile on his face. When we were dancing, there were also proper professional dancers dancing at the same time, so we copied their actions, and they were pretty slick. Then the song ended with a huge finale, we all said "EEEHHH." We then went off stage and gave Denny huge high five's and went to play bulrush on the field.

Netbook Reflection 2012
This generation has more modern ways to learn. For example, we now use high tech fashion mini netbooks, a couple of iPads in each classes, and many of us pretty much have moved on from using pencil and paper.
You know how we use netbooks now a days? Well yes, they have been a huge help this entire year. They’ve pretty much changed the way we learn, and made it more efficient. For me using a netbook instead of pencil and paper, has been way better then looking back at a good 2 years ago. It’s only been 2 years since the manaiakalani programme has kicked in and people’s grades have been rising very rapidly.
The internet connection that we have now is much better than last years that’s all I know. The only thing that’s a bummer, is that the manaiakalani connection that we are supposed to use at home, hasn’t yet been fully wired up.
I think that using netbooks is awesome! And things are running smoothly. But I definitely reckon that without the help of our wonderful principal Mr Burt, and his first lady, Mrs Burt this whole programme with the netbooks, never would have happened. So I am so grateful for them, and the huge knowledge I have gained from using this one very tool to learn with.

Welcoming the Minister of Education
Pasifika Education Plan Launch @ PES from SchoolTV on Vimeo.
On a very special day which was particularly on Thursday 22nd of November. The Minister of Education was going to visit our very own school, which was based in Glen Innes. A not very popular suburb. But with the Minister of Education visiting us, it was a huge privilege. And even much more for me, as I was the opening speaker, to welcome Hekia Parata, as well as her fellow people who came along with her.
As she entered the hall full of students, adults, and teachers, my heart started to race, just knowing that I would be speaking very very soon. And the next thing you know Mr Burt introduced my name, and I had to stand up, and deliver my opening part with Waata.
As I was standing there in awe from the sight of everyone just staring, the words just started flowing through my mouth, without me even thinking about it. But I muddled my words up one little time, but quickly reasserted them in my mind. Before I even knew it, I had finished my part, and Waata had already started. I was relieved I had finished it, and I was also pretty worried about the little muck up. But it was already over and done with, and there was nothing I could do about it.
That day, was definitely a huge day to remember for me, and it will definetly go down in my history book.

Manaiakalani Film Festival
As the van pulled up to it’s parking place, each and everyone of us presenters in the car quietened down. “Okay now we have to wait for Miss Va'afusuaga” said Mr Jacobsen loud and clear on the microphone connected to the cars speakers. We waited and waited for Miss V to come around, but by the time she came, our school was already lining up to be seated in the theatre. We rushed right past them on the escalator. I was very nervous that I tripped up while going off of the escalator.
The theatre started to fill as soon as me and Toreka placed down our bags. It was after 1:30pm, and me and Toreka were exhausted already. Toreka and I were in the que to be presenting. One by one the partners who would present did their thing and walked off. Then it came up to us. My adrenaline started to pump, and My cheeks were burning up. The stadium quieted after the movie before us had finished. All you could hear were me and Toreka’s footsteps going on to the stage. Looking out into the darkened crowd, my mind went blank. I completely forgot my words. Then my mouth opened and my memorised words came out. After we had finished an applause came accross the crowd once again. My heart had finally stopped pumping like a fierce cheetah pouncing onto it’s prey.
As we sat down, we both looked at each other and grinned as to how well we had done, then we had expected. I got comfortable and enjoyed the rest of the Maniakalani Film Festival.

Eclipse
This historic event had just occurred in Auckland, specifically in Glen Innes. It is an extreme event that includes the force of science. A once in a life time thing happened. It was an eclipse. The sight of it was extravagant. And was very VERY beautiful. Each kid from the intermediate block rushed outside, just to get a glimpse of this amazing moment. Now that it is over, it is absolutely something, I will never forget about. Just simply amazing.
Part two of Athletics day
After our half an hour break, we were back into fun filled activities. Our next activity was Relays. It was where we had to get into our house colours, and do little races, and earn points for our house. I was in Tainui, and we unfortunately lost. My favourite short race was the wheel burrow.
Our next activity was Shot put, with Mr J. We each had our go's so that we would get it over and done with. I had obviously placed nothing. But Stephanie came first. Then we had to do a new one, we had to try to chuck the shot put from beneath our knees. Things still didn't work out for me,
We then proceeded onto our next activity after thanking Mr J. This one was pretty much just a kick back activity. We had to get into these red type of sacks. And hop from one end to another in them. It was seriously ridiculous because I kept on falling, and making a huge fool of myself. But life goes on, and it was still very FUN!!
After that activity it was Lunch time. During Lunch time, me and my friends, we practising for our sprints we had next. *BEEP BEEP, the speaker went "may all of the 12 year old girls report the track." As soon as the announcement had finished, my heart was in serious condition. (just joking) As we were all walking up to the starting line I almost fainted....... TO BE CONTINUED.

Caleb Chung
In extension this afternoon we have had to skim over the internet to find a couple of facts about this person called Caleb Chung. Caleb Chung is a famous toy designer who has made the famous toy's Furby, and Pleo the dinosaur. If you have heard of these toys, you would have known that they were huge hits. Caleb Chung had also in the past been an actor, street mime and director. For our extension project we have to make a star map based upon him. It is going to be hard, but I'm going to try my best.

Athletics Day Part one out of Three
Yesterday we had our annual athletics day, and it was such a nice and sunny day for it. First off we started off with lining up on the courtyard in front of a chair with our age categories on it after the second bell rang. Then we were off with our individual assigned teachers for the rest of the day.
I was in the 12 year old girls category, with Miss Muliaumaseali'i. She was awesome. Our first activity was the Discuss. Most of our girls wanted to go last. But the time was almost up so we rushed and had our turns done. I was placed in 3rd, then I was bunked down to 4th. Then at lunch time we had our throw off. After everyone threw, I ended up placing 2nd, Oshania 1st, Hainite 3rd.
Our second activity was High Jump. It was very thrilling watching everyone make it over. I was the first one to jump, and I made it. Then the second time I ran I heard a voice say "GO RITA" I tried to look who it was and then all of a sudden I slipped and slammed my back onto the grass. It was extremely EMBARRASSING. Then I ran for a second chance but I sadly hit the pole. No one got over the height of that bar unfortunately. But we are fortunate enough to go again and try to make it over.
The next activity was Javelin with Mr Barks. He first set out instructions for what we should do, then the next thing you know it, some of us girls were throwing like pro's. But unfortunately when it came up to me, I threw like I was throwing a heavy item! So obviously it landed not far from where I was standing myself. The people who got a placing were very well predicted.
After Javelin we went off to softball throw. I wasn't feeling up to it, so I threw the ball carelessly. And as usual Oshania came first once again in an event. Then finally the first third of the day was done. But unfortunately we still had two more thirds to go.

Narrative Writing (WARNING this story is not true)
There once was a mother and son who lived in a cottage near the sea. “Timmy come and clean your dishes” mum failed to yell out. Mum and I had just finished eating dinner alone, which was the usual since it has been a year and a half since dad had passed away. Our house had been very quiet considering the loss of dad. So to do my part in our family I cleaned the dishes. Mum and I lived far away from the mainland, but luckily we had a car. “Mum can you please iron my uniform for school tomorrow?” I asked mum politely.
The next day mum got a phone call. “Hey Linda, how are you?” I could hear coming from the person on the other side of the line. It was a lady that sounded very familiar. Then I clicked, it was my favourite aunt Rosie. After mum hung up she explained to me that aunt Rosie was calling to see if mum and I could meet up with her at my favourite Cafe, the Mcdonalds Cafe at the Zoo. My favourite place to go when I was like 6, but now I’m 13. I’m too old for that place, but I have to go to see my favourite aunt though. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
After school on Friday I arrived home and shut the door behind me. To my amazement aunt Rosy was sitting on the couch in the living room. “AUNT ROSIE” I said in excitement. I ran to hug her, I was happy to see my aunt but at the same time I was really wondering why she was here so early? So I got changed out of my wrinkled school uniform and ran to the front to catch up with aunt Rosie. She explained that she just couldn’t wait to see me so she had to come.
Half an hour later we were off to the zoo. My used to be favourite place in the world. I took a pile of books just in case mum and auntie wanted to talk by themselves. We entered in the cafe after we deliberately stopped at each animal’s home and pretended to talk to them. “ahhhh finally I get to sit down!” I said relieved.
I unzipped my bag and picked up a random book from inside. I scanned the cover of it while in the meantime mum and aunt Rosie were chatting away and not minding me at all. So I sat there reading my book very interested I was so bored I started questioning mum. “Mum what was the crocodile’s name he was my favourite animal?” I asked. “I think Crocko, son please don’t bother me again?” she replied, “okay sure thing mum” I then replied soon after.
I was reading my book when all of a sudden the crocodile named Crocko came into the cafe. He had escaped and was on the loose, and decided to come to the cafe? Such a weird crocodile. Mum stared back at me and jumped up and screeched to the sight of it. I couldn’t believe no one saw it come in, it’s bright skin ought to have made someone scream before my mum did.
The Cafe once upon a time was all quiet, but now it’s full of people screaming and yelling, like the world’s going to end. I just stood there amazed at the crocodile not actually running away from the whole crowd. But deciding to just stand there on it’s particularly small little so called hands and watch me. I exited the perimeter as soon as the zoo keepers told me so. I saw mum but I was still in awe from just staring at the crocodile. We all hoped in the car and I felt like wanting to see it happen again. But just not the screaming.
Halloween
Halloween this year was awesome. Jasmine, Tanisha and I went down to Glendowie and St Heliers, to supposedly steal candy from the rich houses, but no they gave away the lollies. Our first house we went to apparently turned out to be Jay'Lee's house. She lived right across from Glendowie Collage, which is very sufficient for her if she wants to go to that collage in the future. Anyway we went to her house and got one small piece of a gob stopper. Then we proceeded further on down to St Heliers. We went to different houses and collected different lollies. My favourite house was the house that gave us lollies if we did a trick, or even sing a song. What my friends and I did was the haka. I started it off and then it trailed off along the way. Once it came to the chorus we were back into it. Then the kind lady said "okay hahaha that was a load to do for girls, you young ladies deserve lollies" and we all just smiled cheesy and said "YES PLEASE!" Then as she went inside to get our lollies, the boys showed up behind us, wanting for some lollies from the lady too.
Then when we got them we quickly scurried off to get in front of the boys which were, Xavier, Kendrix and Kane. They wanted some lollies from the same houses as us. The thieves were stealing our clients in a way. Our bags were hardly even filled up, and we were getting angry. But we proceeded on and they just decided to go away. By the end of the day, we managed to just get one quarter of our plastic bags filled. When we got home I felt very exhausted from our VERY long walk we had just done.

Victory will soon go to Barack Obama
The total of all the votes that have been added up recently have added up to this. Barack Obama with 274, and Mitt Romney with 203. So the news has recently been spread. That the past, present, and future president for USA will be Barack Obama. The stadium on t.v looked very packed almost certainly over flowed. But people waited impatiently and eagerly like me, for which name would be announced. People have now been saying that Barack Obama is going to certainly win, I think so to. (not being mean)Barack Obama was a good sport and thanked his opposing candidate for being a good competition. I feel very happy for president Barack Obama. And I am betting that many of his supporters in America are too. He has four very short more years to full fill his duties as the President of the United States of America. Not unless Mitt Romney has a MIRACLE!!
How to make a Toy Block Train
How to make a Toy Block Train
You will need:
Square wooden pieces of blocks (6)
Paint Colours ; Blue, Red, Yellow, Purple, Orange, and Green
Carving knife
Little plastic eyeballs for the face (if you want a face on your train)
Super Glue
Drill
Little short rectangular blocks of wood
Method:
Step 1: Collect all of your equipment listed and lay them out in front of you. First out start off with the alignment of the blocks. Bring out 6 blocks and paint which may have to be all of the primary colours.
Step 2: Paint each block a primary colour. Then paint the beginning alphabet letters on top of it with white after it has dried.
REMEMBER LEAVE TO DRY!!!
Step 3: Then use short little strips of wood and super glue to glue the blocks together. After that you would have to then drill in holes near the bottom of the blocks so that you may be able to install the wheels of the train.
Step 4: After doing so, you may or may not want to decorate it. But if so you can go hard decorating and bedazzling it.
Step 5: Then finally test it out, and it should be able to work. :)

Politic Re-election
So now there is only just about to be one very short day till the new or present president of USA will be announced. Every 2 years on November the 6th (American time) the United States of America have held a Politic re-election, for their country. This as many people now know, has almost been president's Obama's 4th year running as president. And now he is up against Mitt Romney. Who is also known to be a very good politic. The announcement of who the new president will be, is going to make history, and be breath taking. So therefore I can not wait for it to be announced.

Barack Obama vs Mitt Romney
So as most people should now know that the president of America Barack Obama, now has an opponent up against him. His name is Mitt Romney. The two candidates have been going hard persuading the citizens of America to vote for them.
Barack Obama has officially been president of the USA since taking off in January 20, 2009. So which means by using your maths, this year is just about to be his 4th. If more people vote for him then Mitt then he would be able to stay for his 5th year as the president in the white house.
Mitt Romney the other candidate up against Barack Obama, is very intelligent in ways to persuade the citizens too. Mitt Romney criticized President Obama for a nearly identical green energy program Romney set up in his state. From 2003 to 2007, he served as the 70th Governor of Massachusetts. And now not only does he want to be the Governor of Massachusetts, he now wants to be the President of America!
There are only two short and days left for the people of America to vote for which candidate they want to run their very own country. And it is all up to Obama, and Romney to try and get the people's votes. And it will be life changing for the one of them. GOOD LUCK!!

My FAVOURITE Toy
Cookie Monster is a well known toy to young children now-a-days, as well as his best friend Elmo. But my favourite toy is the big cuddly Cookie Monster, that is kind of like a teddy bear, but blue. I’ve had my dearly beloved Cookie for at least 2 months now, and it feels like it has been forever. We’ve been to Carls Jr together, Burger King, Manukau Shopping Mall and Pak’n’save. And now my brothers and sisters think that I’m such a big baby. I kind of am, just speaking the truth.
My cookie monster is arms length, it is obviously blue and it is very, very CUTE! Well to me it is, I don’t know about other people and what they think of him. He loves to eat cookies. He would always usually tag along with me while I steal from our families cookie jar. But we would eventually give into being the guilty ones who stole from it. He has embarrassingly huge eyes, which bulge out but at the same time make him look cute.
Cookie makes me feel like I’m a five year old child again. It reminds me of when I had this other big white and pink teddy bear, which I named Rosalina who comforted me and made me feel loved. I miss her but Cookie has fortunately replaced her, because I lost her 2 years ago.
I have had so many memories with Cookie that the list will probably go on and on, but I’ll only put down my biggest memory with him. I once remember when I took him with my family to Valentines. I accidentally forgot him, and so I begged my mum if I could go back and get him with my eldest sister and she said “yeah sure.”
So we hopped in the car and drove back to the restaurant. I first looked around the table we sat in, and he wasn’t there, so I then checked around the whole place. Then finally I gave up and as I walked past the front of the receptionist office I used my peripheral vision and I saw a glimpse of him, so I fully turned and there he was sitting on the office ladies desk. I had found him. So I asked for him and after the lady handed him over I hugged my dear Cookie very tightly. And that was my biggest memory with him, forgetting him at a restaurant. But now I promise I will never let him out of my sight, besides when I go to school.

Found then Lost
Brainstorm:
A child goes off to camp,
Say’s bye to mum and dad.
Him and his group go on a bush walk,
Their all ready,
They go through dark caves,
explore never before seen boundaries
The place where they were going off to was, known for massive taniwha’s
“Hey mum we have a field trip tomorrow, we’re staying for 2 nights at the batch our science teacher owns somewhere up North” Jack said to his mum in excitement entering the kitchen in his screwed up and muddy school uniform. The batch they were going to for their science trip was near a well known place where people would find massive taniwha’s, and Jack was the type of boy to be getting into mischief quite a lot. His friends and himself would always constantly talk about getting to see a real life taniwha. “Oh no, no, no you are not going!” Jenny, Jack’s mother replied to him. “BUT MUM!” Jack whined. His mum knew exactly why he wanted to go, but she refused.
They talked at dinner about it, and after a long period of time Jenny had to sit and listen to Jack whining and moaning about wanting to go, she finally gave in. “YES, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you” Jack said to his mum repeatedly over and over again. “I’ll just be upstairs packing my bags” he said as he was running up the stairs after dumping his dishes into the sink. Him and his mother lived alone so the house was usually quiet.
Jack couldn’t sleep at all because the only thing going through his mind was getting to see the taniwha’s. He just couldn’t wait.
The next day came and he was all packed and excited about the field trip, mum would have to be alone for two whole nights which was pretty sad for Jack but he just put that behind his mind. “C”MON WE’RE LATE JACK” one of his mates said from the car they were going in. Jack quickly kissed his mother's old wrinkly forehead and scurried off quickly to the car. The car was packed with loads of the students but still had enough space for me. Mr Harris our science teacher sang songs and made up riddle’s for our entertainment in the car, to be honest he wasn’t that good.
When we had arrived it had been a good one and a half hours of sitting stiffly in the car. We all loaded off, and all you could hear were groans and moans of how bright the sun was, and how relieved they were to be out of the car. Everyone grabbed their bags and shoved them into their batches they would be staying in. Then we would all have to line up outside ready for our bush walk. “NO, NOT A BUSH WALK” Amy one of the girls said. “What do you mean we’re going to go and see the taniwha’s” said Peter to her, one of my mates. She rolled her eyes and whispered “typical boys.”
Then not long later we were off, after a good 20 minutes of non stop walking the sun started to hide behind the thick dark grey clouds. My legs started to feel really exhausted and I was sweating like a pig. Me and my mates ditched the class soon after 30 minutes of walking with them. We were off to find the taniwha’s.
We walked down a very steep and slippery hill, everyone was talking and laughing then all of a sudden Peter slipped and started sliding down, all you could hear were the boys laughing, but when he had stopped we saw that he was badly hurt. He had cuts and bruises, and had a twisted ankle. The boys and I were freaking out and weren't quite sure what to do. So we carried him, trying to look for a way back, but all we walked into were very large tree stumps.
Now we were stuck in the middle of the large and soon to be dark forest all alone with no food, only water and an injured person. Dawn fell, and we were all panicking but there was nothing we could do, but keep walking and to try and find our way back.

Guitar Lessons with Mr Slade
This morning Mr Slade kindly taught me and Mary L how to play the famous Maori song Purianei. Each day me and Mary get taught a new song from scratch, and we make a cover to it. As Mr slade was teaching us the cords, I really wasn't catching along. But as I got the hang of things, unfortunately it was time up. Our time with the guitar was over. But I was glad that I learnt a new song. Mr Slade is an awesome teacher!

Family Day Out
These holidays have been a mix of drastically boring, and surprisingly fun! The first week of the holidays were extremely boring. Then the second week hit me by surprise, it's almost finished which went by really fast. On Monday our family spent the whole evening planing out the following day, what we would do for our family day out we have on the first Tuesday of each month. This was the first Tuesday of October.
Our family day out started off with a loud bang at the door. Our older brother was coming home from work, as a security at sylvia park. I woke up had a shower then got changed. Then one by one we all sat on the bed facing the mirror ready to do our hair. I was first straightening, then my eldest sister, then my brother, then my other sister, then my mum. It was all in a strange order. Then when we were ready we got into the car, and sorted out the order of our day.
First we were off to Pakuranga movies. The girls watched Pitch Perfect, while the boys watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid. We bought our food and then we were off into the cinema. There were loads of other girls, like a massive scout group. The movie started and we were all silent. Laughs came from here and there when something hilarious came on the screen. But I reckon my sister Patricia was the loudest.
When the movie had finished we came outside to find my dad and my little brother waiting outside. Their movie finished before ours. So then we were off to Botany to buy me some shoes, and clothes for church. On the way we stopped at a cute little shop that was called 'What A Girl Wants'. It had the most cutest dresses ever!!! I found myself 2 or 3. Then we carried onto Botany.
We were going to K-Mart to buy my shoes. I saw such cute clothes but I could only choose 2. I chose a cute top and 2 cute flat's. Then we went off to Carl's Jr in Glen Innes. Later on after we had a good chit-chat about our lives and what would be happening for our family, we went back home and got ready to go for a walk around the Bay. We then got ready to walk from St Heliers, to Mission Bay and we were off AGAIN! -_-
When we got there me and my sisters walked off ahead while the rest of the family were long behind us. As I was walking along the sandy beach of Mission Bay I was also watching the beautiful sunset. I loved the view and wished I could have never left. But we ended up having to walk right up to the end where the park was. While I was on the swing going back and forth and being able to see the night sky, it felt like I was in starlight heaven. The whole day was extravagant and I wish it could happen all over again.

MY BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET
Have you seen the flowers in my beautiful bouquet?
They were gathered one by one, as I went along my way.
The flowers are distinctive, for each represents a friend,
Of very special beauty, and I love each one of them.
Their species doesn't matter, nor their colour, nor their size,
Everyone delights me, each, a joy in my eyes.
Some are long stemmed-others, short, a few have many leaves,
Others have no leaves at all, and some, pherhaps, are weeds.
Those with thorns are welcome, too, although they may cause trouble,
But to find a bud amongst those thorns is worth every bit of struggle.,
Each bloom's a beauty by itself, though collectively, they're grand,
I wouldn't trade a single one for all the gold in the land.
They're all of value to me, they're all part of my bouquet,
They nurture and sustain me, they get me through each day.
I never meant to let one go, though I have lost a few,
If somehow I could find them, that's exactly what I'd do.
My heart is broken when one fades, or when one petal drops,
And how I ache if one stem breaks, and it's blooming has been stopped.
My friends are all those flowers, I have held in my bouquet,
They've added life to my life and I'm blest they've come my way.
One day I know they'll have to go, and soon my time will also end,
One by one we'll disappear, but .......... we'll meet up again.
In a more exquisite garden, at another time and day,
Then my precious friends and I will become my Lord's bouquet.

Loud Shirt Assembly
This
morning we had our usually every Friday assembly. But this Friday
something special was going on in it. We had a Loud Shirt Day. It’s a
day to help fundraise money for the deaf children around New Zealand.
But the theme was Hawaii. Each child that had mufty or a Loud Shirt,
they had to bring 2 dollars to school, to help donate. In assembly the
best T-Shirts were crowned. And the loudest shirt was awarded to
Tevita. Each person that had a Loud Shirt had been instructed to go
onto the stage. It was seriously embarrassing, but looking around at
what other people had worn was pretty similar to mine. So it made no
difference. And then later on Mrs Va'afusuaga had announced the winner
for the Olympic Sports day. It was IRELAND! Which was completely
unbelievable. The seniors had lost all of their games, but the juniors
won all of their games. It was not expected. But unfortunately my team
Kenya didn’t come a placing.
Part 1 of the Olympic Sports day
Yesterday
the whole school had an Olympic Sports day. Each child had been put
into a country, I was put into Kenya which the leader was Miracle. I
decided to help him and be his assistant with Huelo Ata. When we had
arrived to the court we had to line up in our lines, the juniors and
the seniors.
First of all each country had to stand up and walk around a circuit representing their very own countries. I was so hyped up that I was running around with our flag and waving it to. Then after we had completed the circuit, each team got ready to head off to their first activities.
Team Kenya were lost, so at the time we made up a chant. Our chant went a little like this “KENYAUSHER KENYAUSHER KENYAUSHR (everyone) CHOOHOOO!!” Our chant was ready when all of a sudden we got told that we were in the wrong place, we had to go to the street for four square. We were vs Uganda.
As partner by partner lost from our team, we kept on cheering our team on. Then it came up to me and Huelo Ata’s turn. We lost 3 times. But it came up to one time when we won 4 times in a row. Until Pesi and Mary L came and bullied us off the court. The referee Mrs Langitupu was quite a strict ref. But in the end we lost, which was disappointing but quite predictable.
Our next rotation was to head off to volley ball. Where again we had humbly lost to Mexico. As we exited we did our chant all the way to our next activity Handball. Our luck had been lifted, when we had vs Italy. Miracle was the player of the day for that game, cause he scored our team 3 goals. But I had only scored one goal because the goalie was distracted at the time.
We had FINALLY won a game.
Luckily it was morning tea cause I seriously needed a break.

Rugby Girls Game against Koru
“OWWW!!” the crowd of spectators said as they were lined along the sideline, watching the intense rugby game of Pt England Girls vs Koru Girls. Our intermediate girls rugby team had trained very hard and were going there hardest. Hits here hits there, they were making huge progress with the scoring. Our Pt England Intermediate girls were being very vicious against their opposition. Koru, which was a school located down South far from where we stayed.
Pesi caught hold of the ball and took her chances. She ran straight and bumped off one of Koru’s girls. She then charged onward heading for the try line, and bumped off another one of their girls. And then she dived for the try line with a huge pile of Koru’s team on top of her. Pesi was one of the most fierce and feisty players that were playing at the time. “SHOT PESI” as she scored one try for her team, and they were jumping for joy. And so was the long line of supporters of Pt England School.
I was feeling much sorrow for Koru so I then started cheering for their team. “GO KORUU!!” I yelled from the sideline. Out from the blue they scored a try. And then all my friends that I was surrounded by were staring at me. And I said “What be a good sport” with a grin on my face.
Number 11 for Koru was running with the ball and was heading straight towards the crowd. Joe yelled out “Jaylee that’s yours.” And for certain she got number 11 down. Jaylee was also another one of the most fierce and feistiest players in the match. When she made that hit, the whole crowd did their usual “OWWW.” Hits were made here and there but to be honest the best hit was made by Tina Mapapalangi.
She is an astounding role model for those one’s that want to make big hits like her in rugby when they grow up. “OHHHH OWWW!!” the entire crowd chanted. I was probably the big mouth there going hard for Koru when she made that hit. By the end of the game it was draw. Each team scored 3 tries. So then they had an extra 5 minute play off.
Unfortunately we had to head back to class to pack up. But the rugby girls came back with humble hearts saying that they had sadly lost by one point. It was a harsh and intense game and our girls kept humble and made no conflict. As well as Koru.
Our girls stayed humble and that was the main thing. They tried their best but yet didn’t get their. But hopefully next time they would win. Overall the game was amazing and intense with huge hits. Their should be another game and next time I would go hard out for our girls.

What If I could go back in time?
What if I could go back in time? I would be able to do anything, rearrange the past, and the things that I did right and wrong. I could be able to get the things I weren’t allowed to have back then. And I would be able to replace the things I did wrong.
The first thing I would do if I could go back in time, would be to bomb out Nezinli Taufa in the dougie competition at the school social. As well as the cat-daddy competition.
I would also go back in time to when the Natzi’s were alive. And I would try and fight for the black people’s rights. Because it was not fair for them to be an outcast from the world.
But to travel back in time, is kind of unrealistic. And so I would rather stay in the time I’m in right now.

If I were a Billionaire
Becoming a billionaire would mean everything to me. I could change the way I live, have more higher chances to get into a highly classified college and much much more. I could change a
lives in Africa if I donate thousand’s to the Unicef foundation, and I could also be changing the way people look at me.
If I were a billionaire? People would probably use it on buying houses, and all of those likely to be expensive things. Inside I would love to do the same, but before doing something like that, I would have to pay the bills for our family, and do the right stuff that would help me and my family.
Then I would love to donate a couple of thousand’s to the Unicef foundation, and then save the rest of the money to be able to go to the world’s highest college and University.
Going to the best University in the world, can lead you to becoming the best in the world. After accomplishing my tasks at university then I would travel around the world to my hearts content.
I love my traveling as much as my family, so after travelling I would probably go back home and stay there for a little pit stop, then carry on with my journey. And be back to being busy as a bee.
Being a billionaire will be quite a lot of work, so I would actually love to just be as myself now and forever.

Mini Olympics
Tainui 4 was written on my hand, and as I was looking for the exact same words on the walls of the hall, I was frightened from behind by Tyler Baker. She happened to be in the same group as me. So we sat down and were waiting impatiently for our team leader Jarna to lead us off to our first destination.
Today the students from years 6 to 8 all gathered in the hall. Ready for a whole first block of fun filled activities, related to the 2012 Olympics. Tainui 4 headed off to the street, the year 7 and 8 block. There we would be doing something alike to zumba with Mr Slade, but more slower.
After we had finished doing that activity we moved along to the Music room, where we would be watching just the beginning of The Toy Shop production we did in 2009. As I sat down straight away I saw my good friend Huelo-Ata as a little girl. Then out popped Julia who was the mother of Joshua, but in the Production. And then a shocker, out popped everyone, and from the corner of my eye I saw myself as a little girl.
Our next activity was in the Library, with Mrs Flavelle. We were going to be decorating cookies with icing, and seashells with felt tips. The cookies were left for one side of my team to decorate and the seashells were left to me and my side to decorate. It was a tough challenge because we were vs Taki 2, and from what they have produced by half time was pretty good. But we got back into the game and were decorating as fast as we could, and putting in a lot of creativeness that we had into it. In the end my teams result was much better than I had predicted it to be.
After that activity we moved onto doing Jump Jam in room 17 with Miss Muliaumaseali’i. Our first song we did with her was this song that is in the movie Rio. Then later on after 2 more song,s we had a freestyle competition. I obviously entered it, to get our group more points. By the end of the freestyle round we, Tainui, had scored up to 70 points. Me and Patrick scored the most. And Taki 2 scored quite a bit too.
Then kicked back and listened to the song I believe in the movie Honey. Then after that song, we had to retreat right back to the hall, ready to watch PENN. At the end of PENN, they played some movies, that we had made when we were really young. It was a shocker! Then it was time to depart.
The whole morning block was packed with fun. And I had the most. Hopefully we could do it another time, because it was really cool.

Cross Country
‘Oh my goodness today is cross country’ I thought to myself, as I sat up from bed. After I got ready for school I sat in the living room saying to myself ‘I have come at least 15th or 11th.' Just because last year I came last, which was all because I brought the wrong shoes to school.
The 12 yr old girls lined up along the starting line. My heart was pounding with rapid speed. “CLAP” the blocks went, and all I could here was the noise of a stampede. Squash squelch was what I could hear so far from the mud we were all stepping in. It was a muddy disaster.
After I had passed a few teachers and adults here came the 12 year old boys. Then next after half way came Lepa, Havea and Kaiden. I was seriously annoyed. But for my group of girls I was coming at least 12th or 13th. I was really lost in my placing.
As Mary and I were walking and slouching at the same time, we saw even more people come past. When they had come past one person had almost slipped. “OH MY GOSH!! ARE YOU OKAY!!” I said to him. I couldn’t really remember who it was but it was one of the 12 year old boys. He then dusted himself off and carried on.
From afar I could hear Mr Garth Jacobsen’s voice coming from the loudspeaker. He was announcing who was coming what in placing.
My heart started to pump harder as I was heading closer to the finish line. "Go Rita" I heard one of the Takitimu people's say.
My heart was then at ease after I had passed the finish line. I was EXHAUSTED! But to my amazement I had beaten Mary Loseli who was way far back. I didn't know what I came, so I just sat down took off my muddy shoes and sighed that the whole event was over.
At the end of the day, I felt extremely exhausted. But overall it was the best Cross Country I had ever attended. Just because I didn't come last. Next year I am looking forward to be attending Cross Country. I can't wait.

Usain Bolt
Many people say that Usain Bolt is a Legend. He hasn’t yet been crowned as a Legend though. Usain Bolt has recently become the first man to win the 200m sprints at two consecutive Olympics. Apparently as he has recently won these medals, it is making history. But yet they don’t want to crown him as a legend.
Why? Because the president for the IOC Jacques Rogge said “The career of Usain Bolt has to be judged when his career stops.” “Let him participate in three, four games, and he can be a Legend. Already he’s an Icon.” I disagree. This shouldn’t stop Usain Bolt from being crowned a legend.
From some of the research I have gathered, it is clear that Usain Bolt is a very inspiring athlete to many young and old people around the entire globe. And he can inspire those who think that they can’t strive to be winners. The one thing that inspires me about him, is the fact that he came from being nothing, to becoming an international sensation. This young gentleman, has also made up a really cool move of his own, name ‘The Bolt’.

The Olympic Message
Baron Pierre de Coubertin the founder of the Olympic flag, said that “The most important thing about the Olympic Games is not to win, but to take part...just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle”. This is the olympic message that was devoted to all the athletes and the participators, coming from the one and only, Baron Pierre de Coubertin.
The Olympic message can be explained in many different ways, to many different people. My opinion about the Olympic message is very much alike. Life isn’t always about the glory, but it is also about the trials and tribulations you go through. If you go through things like struggles you can learn from it, and accomplish much more things, and be successful in life.
I agree with the statement because it is exactly what people are doing now a days. People should be in it for the participation, instead of for the triumph. I am usually cocky when my team wins a game, but now that I have read this, it has shown me the right thing to do, when winning. Is to be humble.
Being apart of the Olympics takes up a lot of time from the athlete’s social life. The one main thing that they do give all is sacrifice. For instance they gave up all of their time just to train and prepare for the Olympics. In other words they have to keep on a strict diet, specific foods and much much more. To help them get through the tough times they always have the Olympic message running through the back of their minds.
The Olympic message is very helpful to those athletes, that look down on themselves. And I think that it will help a lot of other people in their own lives and social lives. And it will sure help them strive to the end and be successful in life.

Victorious
1. A member from Team China have victoriously won a Gold Medal for their Country.
2. As she was holding up her medal, she smiled gleefully.
3. By the looks of her facial expressions she is outstandingly proud of herself, for winning a gold medal, at the 2012 London Olympics.
4. She is very dignified of herself, for winning a gold medal, which is exactly what I would do if I were her.
5. Her heart must be pounding full of joy knowing that she made her country proud.
