'Memories' By Makerita

Everyone has a special place. I chose this specific place because it is where I have stayed for the past few years. It is where most memories are held, and it is also where my family and I can see and spend quality time together. With out this place of mine I would have nowhere to stay.

I chose the style of Henri Matisse, which is Fauvism. He loves to use bright and extravagant colours in each of his artworks. That is exactly what I love to see in paintings. It was very hard in the making of my very own artwork. One whole day it took me to paint and the other to draw. I couldn't balance my schedule at times, which made it very hard to accomplish my work. I love my artwork and it took me a lot of hard work and effort to make it.

Caught Napping

This painting is one of the many paintings that was made by the famous
Charles Frederick Goldie. It is called ‘Caught Napping’. It was painted at
least 111 years ago. This is a wonderful painting of the well known Hamiora. Charles Frederick Goldie painted many Maori people because he was inspired by their mokos. Our Extension group had to recreate a painting of our choice from this artist. We had to recreate one of his artworks to be able to present at our schools art exhibition.  

My choice was ‘Caught Napping’. This painting is to me a random painting. It kind of doesn’t explain anything. It doesn’t make sense in any way. Which is kind of like a mystery, that I was really interested in finding out.

In the process of the making of my artwork, we had to take our time with the shading. To be able to make it look 3D. It was very hard and took a lot of time and effort to make. We also had to try and make it look exactly like a replica of the actual one.

I ended up actually satisfying myself with my end result. It turned out better than expected. I had a lot of trouble with the background as you can see. But it all turned out just fine for me.

Room 21 have been assigned to pick one static image and write one paragraph about it. A static image is when the image lacks of motion. This is a static image of a plain yellow rose. As you can see the rose stands out with the bright and vibrant colour that it has. From the angle this person has taken this snapshot makes the image look very beautiful and bold in its own way. The person that took this photo zoomed in on the flower to make it look more effective.
